Properly Seasoned Firewood
Last Updated: November 12, 2023
Properly seasoned firewood has lower moisture content, resulting in cleaner and more efficient burning.
Shoot for moisture content of 20%. In our Appalachian Mountain area of Pennsylvania and with our tree species, this typically means letting the wood dry for at least 6 months to one year.
If you have any interest in firewood or any other topic related to wood, come over to YouTube and check out our channel “Make Some Dust”. We recently published a video on how we clean our firewood. – Chuck and Bren
