Great Northern Organic Popcorn
At our homestead we cannot grow popcorn. The raccoons get to it long before we do. So, we are very grateful that we found Great Northern popcorn. (And, it’s ORGANIC, NON-GMO!!!!)
Popcorn is an easy snack for us. The best part about making it yourself is you can control the amount of salt and butter (or other toppings). We mainly eat it lightly salted with Redmond’s Real Salt.
We make our popcorn in an ordinary pot with a lid. As soon as the first kernels pop, keep the pot moving over the heat until it is all popped to prevent burning. (Our rule of thumb is to take it off the heat when we no longer hear popping for three seconds. This is a good indicator that the kernels have all popped).
A canister of popcorn will last the two of us about a month or two. We have popcorn several times a week for a snack.
