Wood Pile Goals

It is always good to have goals. I had to share this picture of my wife and I trying to get this butt end of a walnut log at our homestead. It was gorgeous color, and I wasn’t going to let it go to waste. However, it was caught in a dip in the land. We couldn’t get equipment in to retrieve it, so we did it the old fashioned way with some muscle and a few curse words. I ended up milling that log on our sawmill and using it in some woodworking projects.

Turning Timber into Treasures

I have a passion for working with wood. From firewood processing, sawmilling, building, and woodworking, I cannot seem to get enough of it. Lathe work is my ultimate passion. Lately, I have been busy turning all kinds of Christmas ornaments and making other crafts for the holiday season. Working with wood is one of the sources of income at our homestead in the Appalachian Mountains (it’s kind of my dream job and it has taken me many years to get here).

I want to share my love of wood with others. I recently started a YouTube channel called Make Some Dust. I hope you will check it out and let me know what you think. – Chuck
