These are Chuck’s favorite T-shirts for going to town. The fabric is soft and the colors are beautiful. The fabric is a heathered look. My husband is not really picky about clothing, so when he comments about how much he likes the shirts, you know they’re a winner! The assembly workmanship on these shirts is good and the fabric weight is perfect.

Just so you know in case you want to try them out, I do wash them gently in cold water and I line dry. I think doing it that way helps to keep the shape and doesn’t wear out the fabric as quickly. I do most of our laundry that way and we very rarely purchase new items. – Bren

As a homesteader who spends a lot of time outdoors, I like a hat that is comfortable and practical. This tan wide floppy brimmed hat fits the bill. It is made of felt (95% wool and 5% polyester).

This hat is soft and very comfortable to wear. I found it to be a good quality for the price. It has a nice rope detail, but you could up the look by tying a scarf or ribbon around it as well.

The hat is one size fits all with a circumference of 22.5″. It does have a ribbon in the banding to snug the fit a little more if you need it.

The manufacturer recommends hand washing.

If you are looking for durable and practical jeans for farm work or outdoor activities, Carhartt jeans are my favorite. As a homesteader, I wear them on a daily basis and can attest to their quality and versatility. If you watch my videos or see me in pictures around the homestead, nine times out of ten I’m wearing Carhartt’s.

These jeans are extremely rugged and long-lasting. Despite being worn and washed weekly, they can withstand the hard use that comes with farm chores, gardening, and wood processing. (I think some of my jeans are over 5 years of age even with all the abuse I give them).

I prefer the mid-rise style which sits slightly below the waist in front but still provides full rear coverage with a slightly higher back rise. This prevents plumber’s butt incidents when you’re constantly bending and moving around. The front pockets are also deeper than other jeans I’ve owned. I rarely use back pockets.

For those who are taller, Carhartt offers tall options. At 5’8″, I wear a size 4 tall, which I have a terrible time finding in other stores. I prefer the straight leg or original fit as they have more room in the knee area which helps when bending down or kneeling.

When it comes to footwear, I typically wear low ankle covering work boots or steel-toed boots, and higher calf-high or knee-high muck boots. With the original or straight cut jeans, they cover the tops of my low boots nicely, and can also be easily rolled up when wearing muck boots. The slim cut, on the other hand, can be difficult to roll up due to their tight fit around the calves and the tapered shaping in the lower leg.

If you need durable workwear for your homesteading, farm, or outdoor activities, I highly recommend Carhartt jeans.
