Firewood Composition and Sizes
Our firewood is composed of hardwood species (with the exception of the firewood bundles which are intended for outdoor burning and may contain a stick of pine or softwood on occasion). Wood is split into manageable sizes and typically ranges from 16 to 20 inches in length.
What is a cord?
A cord is a stack of wood measuring 4 feet high by 4 feet wide by 8 feet long (128 cubic feet).
Weight of a Cord
The weight of a cord of wood will vary depending on the species and moisture content. Most seasoned (dry) hardwood cords weight between 2,500 and 4,000 pounds.
