Yogurt is one of the easiest things to make and this kit is perfect. It provides three different culture varieties to try that will make 11-22 quarts of yogurt depending on your usage.

The best thing about making your own yogurt is you know what is in it. If you milk an animal, you can start with your own source of milk. Once finished, add your own toppings. My latest craze is adding maple syrup to yogurt and topping with a spoon full of grape nuts. I also like mixing in a spoonful of my canned preserves or jelly to plain yogurt. I know everything is organic and raised at the homestead. I can also control the amount of sweeteners.

This triple pack of cultures is on sale and is what we use at the homestead to make our yogurt. I would advise getting a yogurt maker if you make yogurt regularly. For me, it just makes life easier. Just make it and walk away to let it do it’s thing. I have too many things to do around the homestead to sit and watch yogurt firm up.

By the way, freeze the cultures you don’t use right away. Cultures like these will usually last about two years in the freezer.
