Homestead Beekeeping
Original Post: May 2019 Last Updated: November 23, 2025
A honey bee swarm occurred back in May at the homestead while Josh from Blue Spruce Bee Company was on site. Josh shows a technique for getting the swarm to move from a height of about 35 feet to a height of about 10-15 feet for a more manageable capture. This is an amazing technique to know if you capture honey bee swarms.
Josh is an amazing beekeeper. He is extremely knowledgeable about bees and dedicated to helping the bee populations to thrive. Honey bees are his passion and it shows. Just get him talking on the subject!
